Seattle is bursting with coffee shops, but only the best are cozy enough to write the next best seller.
So, you’ve decided to write a novel. Maybe your first – possibly your 13th. It’s a special process each and every time and requires a certain environment to thrive. Away from the roommates, away from screaming children, amongst other creatives - it’s basically a science.
We’ve rounded up the best cozy coffee shops in Seattle that offer endless inspo and a comfortable environment to relax in and do what you do best – create!
Mellow, Artsy Vibe
Cherry Street Coffee House is located only blocks from the water and offers delicious coffee, food, and a great place to relax. Cherry Street is a local Seattle chain, and each shop offers different vibes, but the coziest is the location in Pioneer Square on Cherry and 1st. Cherry Street on a rainy day is… chef’s kiss. If you can, sit on the first floor along with the glass windows for soothing views of the city and locals in the rain. If you need to be alone, choose the upstairs seating, which is quieter and more spacious. Cherry Street also offers local craft beer options and mimosas, so be sure to stay long enough to enjoy.
Homey, Cozy Vibe
The Fremont Coffee Company is one of the best places in Seattle for latte art. It also boasts impressive interior and exterior seating options. Inside, you will find cozy, welcoming seating. The shop has a home layout and multiple rooms with different vibes and an outdoor porch option as well. You can spend all day in here working on your computer and jumping around between rooms without ever getting sick of the place.
Youthful, Inspiration Vibe
Zoka is another local chain across Seattle and nearby areas, including SLU and Kirkland. The location in U Village, near the University of Washington, Seattle, is the perfect place to settle in. While school is in session, you can expect to be surrounded by other young professionals, studying and writing just as you are. The shop offers plenty of seating in an open, well-lit space and a fireplace for the cold winter months. The overall vibe here is a bit more catered toward a collective spirit of productivity, and you may find yourself sharing space with others, but for some, that’s exactly what they need!
Warm, Cozy Vibe
Moore Coffee Shop offers delicious food, drinks, and an extremely cozy atmosphere – we’re here for it! There are a couple of locations in the Seattle-vicinity, but only one has the cozy layout as the location in between Westlake and Pike Place on 2nd Avenue. This is another shop that offers beautiful latte art from talented baristas. There is seating indoors and outdoors, with the outdoor seating being a small, gated section on the street. Inside, you will find a home-like layout with different rooms and tons of cozy décor like plush couches, chairs, and fireplaces. The tables and seating are also organized to accommodate singles, so don’t feel bad setting up here and hogging up space like some other shops make you feel – at Moore, you’re welcome.
