Founded in 1989, the Jack London Square Farmers Market has deep roots in Oakland, providing a vibrant waterfront marketplace for Bay Area families. It takes place in Oakland’s Jack London Square on Sundays (10 am to 3 pm), year-round, rain or shine.

The vibe of the market is vibrant, fresh, sunny, and welcoming.

The market is every Sunday all year round, rain or shine, and is free to the public.

You can get to the market by taking Bart, AC Transit, or a Ferry.

The Farmers’ Market features locally handmade soap and body product makers, jewelry, clothing, kitchenware, wool bedding, yarns and fibers, pottery, knife and yard tool sharpening, woodworkers, photographers, and painters…

The Temescal Farmers Market was also an early adopter of the Match Grant program which provides the opportunity for our neighborhood residents using EBT assistance an extra $10 free each week towards fresh fruits and vegetables. This program has been helping countless students, artists, single parents and low-income earners access to the same healthy and nutrient dense groceries everyone needs and deserves. We have also become known as Temescal’s Urban Village Family Market, as we have so many kids that have been growing up in our aisles, sampling peaches and strawberries and learning from being a part of a tight-knit community!

What many do not always realize is that our markets have also served as an incubator for so many of Oakland’s small business entrepreneurs and artists for the last 20+ years including Temescal favorites, Bakesale Betty, Cholita Linda, and Curbside creamery. From the inception of Blue Bottle Coffee to Blue Chair Jams, our farmers’ markets have been the birthplace and professional training wheels of so many local bakers, makers, and artists.

Conveniently located near BART and multiple AC Transit lines, The Fruitvale Farmer’s Market brings fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables from local producers to the neighborhood. Other vendors sell prepared foods like roasted almonds or candy, or merchandise and music.

For over 20 years, the Old Oakland Farmers’ Market has been the East Bay’s most divers, affordable, and accessible Farmer’s Market. It is now also the home of California’s most revered certified organic farmers and food purveyors.

Our mission is to bring traditional legacy foods from Black farmers and other underserved farmers to the Bay Area with the goal of making regionally fresh organic or pesticide free produce and nutritional information accessible in areas devoid of supermarkets.

At the Market, you will find 5 full-service Farmers & 16 Food Artisans.

All vendors participate during our “Full Season”, June-November. During our “Partial Season”, late November-May, you should find at least 1 Farmer and about 8 Food Artisans.
