Chihuly Garden and Glass provides a look at the inspiration and influences that inform the career of artist Dale Chihuly. Located at Seattle Center, Chihuly Garden and Glass includes an Exhibition Hall, the centerpiece Glasshouse and a lush Garden. The Exhibition Hall contains eight galleries and three Drawing Walls, offering visitors a comprehensive look at Chihuly’s significant series of work; the Glasshouse presents a suspended 1,340-piece, 100-foot-long sculpture; and the Garden is a backdrop for four monumental sculptures and other installations.

A Sound Garden is an outdoor public art work in Seattle, Washington, United States. It is one of six such works on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration campus, which lies adjacent to Warren G. Magnuson Park on the northwestern shore of Lake Washington.

Cal Anderson is located in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood and is the hub of the community. Cal Anderson Park includes a fountain, texture pool and reflecting pool, promenade paths, landscaping, a shelterhouse, a plaza, a children’s play area, a wading pool, a lighted sports field, and a number of oversize chess boards. This open park invites walking, sitting, reading, contemplation, informal sports in the meadow, and organized sports on the athletic field.

For walkers: the circumference of the park on the sidewalks, including Bobby Morris Playfield, is 3,325 lineal feet, or about 2/3 of a mile. An interior loop on gravel paths, using the old concrete gatehouse as the most southern edge and passing the cone water feature to the north, is 1,700 lineal feet, or about 1/3 of a mile.

We were sick of being told we needed to change and we were ready to do something about it. It is with this on our hearts that we opened our first studio in Capitol Hill in 2012.

Seattle Art Museum: Olympic Sculpture Park
Olympic Sculpture Park is the winning design of an international competition.

Envisioned as a new model for an urban sculpture park, the project is located on a industrial site at the water’s edge. The design creates a continuous constructed landscape for art, forms an uninterrupted Z-shaped “green” platform, and descends 40 feet from the city to the water, capitalizing on views of the skyline and Elliot Bay and rising over the existing infrastructure to reconnect the urban core to the revitalized waterfront.

An exhibition pavilion provides space for art, performances and educational programming. From this pavilion, the pedestrian route descends to the water, linking three new archetypal landscapes of the northwest: a dense temperate evergreen forest, a deciduous forest and a shoreline garden. The design not only brings sculpture outside of the museum walls but brings the park itself into the landscape of the city.

Jack Block Park is a 15-acre park in the West Seattle neighborhood. Situated on the northwest corner of the Port of Seattle’s Terminal 5.

The parks amenities include Public beach access, Walking Pier, 45-foot high Observation Tower,
Children’s Play Area, View of Terminal 5 operations, Seattle Skyline, Mt. Rainier, Benches, restroom and parking, Hours: dawn to dusk.

The site of the park was previously occupied by a wood treatment plant and a shipbuilding facility. The area was eventually contaminated with creosote and designated a Superfund site by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 1994. Originally named Terminal 5 Park, the park opened in 1998 as part of the Port of Seattle’s redevelopment of Terminal 5 and was dedicated and named after the only longshore worker elected to the Port Commission, Jack Block, in 2001.

After an environmental cleanup effort that included the removal of contaminated mud and wood pilings as well as the capping of 58 acres (23 ha) of sediment, the park’s beach opened to the public in 2011.

The park features a walking path along the shoreline, which passes by a play area and a walkable pier before terminating at the park’s observation tower. The tower overlooks Elliott Bay and downtown Seattle, and also offers a view of port operations at Terminal 5 and Vigor Shipyards. Interpretive plaques at the tower provide a summary of activities at the Port of Seattle and an overview of maritime shipping technology

I-5 Colonnade is the first ever urban mountain bike skills park.

`It’s part of a City of Seattle park, but was funded and constructed by Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance. The park features a novice area – the Tqalu Trail; an intermediate and advanced area – Limestone Loop; a dirt jumping section; pump track; trials area and more.

The Duwamish people have been in the Seattle/Greater King County area since time immemorial. Our stories, such as “North Wind, South Wind”, tell of the last Ice Age, and an Ice Weir breaking over the Duwamish River.

Our longhouse today stands across the street from where one of our largest villages was located before it was burned down by settlers in 1895.

Events at the Duwamish Longhouse & Cultural Center are often put on by the tribe or allied groups for the benefit of the public, but we also host private events for any interested group who would want to use the space for meetings, reunions, or other gatherings. Each group is an important and vital makeup of the Pike Place Neighborhood.

In addition to preserving and protecting the historic buildings and character of the nine-acre historic district and serving as an incubator and supporter of farmers, artisans and small businesses, the Pike Place Market was chartered by the City of Seattle to provide services for low-income individuals.
