Swing through Resistencia Coffee to support a local business all about giving back
Seattle is the name of a Native American leader. It’s also a synonym for “coffee culture.” So grab some strong cold brew, expertly foamed lattes, kombucha, and organic hot drinks at a shop that also cares. Resistencia’s mission is to stand in solidarity with their diverse neighborhood.

They host pop-ups for chefs and local bakers (chocolate flan cake and savory empanadas, anyone?). They also value their unique baristas (see them on Instagram). These are all mission-driven perks that come with your caffeine perk.

Before ⎸Head to the Duwamish Waterway Park early in the morning to watch the rowers from the Duwamish Rowing Club set off and then walk over to the South Park Bridge for viewing the ships that pass through.
After ⎸Grab a bottle of wine (or 2, or 3) at Left Bank, the cozy and casual neighborhood wine bar.

Duwamish Waterway Park
Quiet and secluded on the banks of the Duwamish waterway, this park offers benches and a large lawn area, complete with big trees for shade, a BBQ pit and picnic tables, and to top it off you can find views of ships using the waterway too.

South Park Bridge
The Code of Federal Regulations is the current legislation guiding the South Park Bridge vessel opening schedule, which currently states that the bridge is prohibited from opening for vessel traffic between 6:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on Federal holidays. The Seattle Department of Transportation operates the South Park Bridge under contract for King County and can be reached at 206-549-2896.
