Once a sleepy fishing village, Ballard is a hip neighborhood in Seattle in a beautiful setting surrounded by water on two sides. Rich in Scandinavian heritage, the area now is overflowing with indie restaurants, stylish shops, craft breweries, bars, and boutiques. Watch the ships and salmon pass through the water at the famous Ballard Locks and sit there for a picnic before strolling down to the beach of Golden Gardens Park to enjoy a game of volleyball and the scenic view of the mountains and don’t forget the Sunday Farmer’s Market!
