Vibemap’s story began in Illinois. Our mission has always been simple. We want to connect people with places that match their vibe. In the Midwest, this mission became real. From Peoria to Evanston to Moline, Vibemap in Illinois helped shape our platform and guide our national growth. In addition, these early partnerships taught us lessons that guide our work across the country.
Discover Peoria: The First Vibemap in Illinois Partnership
Discover Peoria was the first destination to believe in Vibemap. As a result, it became the place where we tested ideas and built our foundation.
Together, we created a digital experience that connects people to the heart of Peoria. This project included everything we offer: Business Listings, Events Data and Calendar, Interactive Maps, Digital Passports, and Website Design and Development.
Because of this partnership, people in Peoria can now find things to do, businesses to visit, and places to explore that fit their mood. For example, visitors use the Peoria map and passport to discover new restaurants, music venues, parks, and cultural events.
Also, the project showed that technology can support local discovery. Communities grow stronger when people can easily explore what is nearby.
“For us, Vibemap is an incredibly important thread within the fabric of tourism and destination marketing efforts at Discover Peoria. While we work to inspire both residents and visitors to discover our destination, most occasions start with a vibe, and Vibemap directly helps bolster economic opportunity for our entire service area. And selfishly, we love to claim that we knew the potential of Vibemap before anyone else.”
J.D. Dalfonso, Chief Executive Officer, Discover Peoria
Downtown Evanston: Premium Vibemap in Illinois Experience
After Peoria, Downtown Evanston became one of our most important partners. It was our fifth customer, signed in 2023. In addition, they were one of the first to choose our Premium Package.
That package includes Business Listings, Events Data, Interactive Maps, and Digital Passports. In addition, Evanston added our Marketing Package, which includes design services, marketing materials, and the Vibemap Ambassador Program.
Our ambassadors play a key role in Evanston. They meet people in person, talk to local businesses, and invite residents to explore downtown. They also promote local campaigns. Because of this combination of digital tools and in-person outreach, community engagement has grown stronger.
In fact, this partnership showed how technology and human connection can work together effectively.
"The team from Vibemap has been a valuable partner in helping us to reach new audiences, strengthen our brand, and promote our downtown business district."
Andy Vick, Executive Director, Downtown Evanston
Moline: Focused on Events and Community Connection
The City of Moline uses Vibemap in a focused way. Their team uses our Events Data and Calendar Service to manage and promote local events.
With Vibemap, they can collect, organize, and share event information quickly. As a result, residents and visitors can see what is happening each week without searching multiple websites.
Even though Moline uses one core service, the results have been powerful. People have a single place to find local events. Businesses also get better visibility. This shows that even one Vibemap tool can make a real difference.
Why Illinois Mattered Most to Vibemap
Illinois was more than a starting point. In fact, it was a teacher.
Peoria showed us that a full digital strategy can bring a city to life. Evanston taught us that people and technology need to work together. Moline reminded us that simple tools can still have a big impact.
Because of our Illinois partners, Vibemap learned how to help destinations strengthen local pride and connection. These lessons guide our work across the country today.
Looking Ahead
Vibemap continues to grow nationwide. However, Illinois will always be our foundation.
The creativity and community spirit of Peoria, Evanston, and Moline helped define what we do. Each project showed that digital maps and real-world experiences belong together.
If your organization wants to help people explore what makes your place special, we would love to talk. Contact Vibemap to learn how we can help your destination thrive.
