San Francisco knows all about the classic, hard to beat duo

As the days get shorter and the winds get stronger, there’s nothing cozier than the classic sausage-and-beer combo. Where to find it in San Francisco? The following 5 spots do it best.

Waterfront Vibe

Located steps from Fort Mason, Radhaus is a bright and fabulous German restaurant, with excellent bratwurst and pretzels, and plenty of German beer on tap. Perfect for a waterfront lunch in the sun.

Industrial Vibe

This brand-new brewery in Mission Bay impresses with its chic design and elaborate menu. At New Belgium Taproom, the Mission Dog - a bacon-wrapped frankfurter with jalapenos - is a must, and so is a sampling of the locally brewed IPAs and sours.

Cozy Vibe

The beloved Hayes Valley eatery feels like a tavern in Munich. On the menu at Suppenküche, currywurst - Germany’s classic street food, and broiled pork sausages are offered with hearty sides. Dark and wheat beers, hard to pronounce but fun to drink, complete the feast.

Decadent Vibe

Outfitted with dark wood, Schroeder’s is a well-deserved break from reality. Cozy up with the lavish sausage board, and order a glass of Bay Area-rewed kolsch to go with it.

Decadent Vibe

Magnolia Brewery and Pub has two locations, but the one in the Height is especially fun. Filled with history and excellent drinks, the pub offers plenty of beer on tap, as well as a mean corn dog.
