If you’re feeling playful, Gelso & Grand has a delicious treat for you. Situated in Little Italy, the restaurant serves authentic Italian cannoli, but with a twist. They’ve taken a regular cannoli to a 2x larger size. And the best part? You get to smash open the cannoli and let the creamy filling and chocolates flow. Perfect for an Instagram boomerang on a night out. The restaurant also changes up the cannoli flavors with the seasons --catch the strawberry shortcake cannoli this fall.

If you’re craving carbs, then SomethinGreek is the place to be. Located in Brooklyn, the restaurant serves up a Greek-style lasagna called Pastitio. This traditional dish consists of macaroni, ground beef and creamy bechamel sauce all layered together, and is served as 2-pound slices with a side of horiatiki house salad. Try it yourself on Fridays as part of their weekly dinner specials.

If you’re in New York, you have to keep up with the latest trends. That’s why Noi Due Carne’s 1 pound meatball is a must-try. The restaurant has taken an innovative turn to the classic spaghetti and meatballs. They instead serve a giant meatball, filled with spaghetti, and sauce on the side. Head over to the Upper West Side and give it a try.

Home to some of the best delis in the country, you can’t visit New York City and not eat from a deli. So head over to Sarge’s Delicatessen & Diner in Murray Hill and try the Monster, Sarge’s 10 to 12-inch tall sandwich -- the biggest in NYC.
