Home to a troll, dinosaurs, a statue of Lenin, and some of the best and quirkiest bars and restaurants in the city, there is a quiet charm to this cozy and proudly weird little neighborhood.

The bohemian heart of Seattle, Fremont is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. Known for its quirky atmosphere, Fremont has blossomed into a spot with a vibe that is all its own - with something for locals and tourists alike. Once the transit hub of the northern Seattle suburbs, Fremont took on the moniker the “Center of the Universe” since many travelers had to make a stop in the neighborhood. In the century since, Fremont has fully embraced this, becoming one of the most inclusive and diverse neighborhoods in the city - where everyone is encouraged to let their freak flag fly.

Stroll through the neighborhood for a relaxing Sunday spent thrifting at the local shops and Fremont Sunday Market, or enjoy a boozy brunch at some of the hottest places in town. If something a little more rowdy is your scene, hit up the converted-house bars along 36th or yell until you're hoarse watching soccer at George & Dragon Pub. Snap pics at the Troll and feast on the amazing Indian, Korean, Thai, Japanese, Caribbean, Mexican, and even Russian fare Fremont has to offer.

Lazy Sunday Vibes

Sip coffee on the porch at Fremont Coffee Company, then stroll up the hill to Fremont Peak Park. Embrace your inner plant mom at Peace Love and Happiness Club, relax with dinner and drinks at Kamonegi and Hannyatou or dine al fresco at Le Coin. Stroll down to The BackDoor for curated cocktails in a laid-back jazzy atmosphere.

Blast From The Past Vibes

Get pics with the Fremont Troll and the Fremont Dinosaurs. Learn about the weird history behind the Statue of Lenin. Hunt for buried treasures from the past at the Fremont Vintage Mall, grab some records at Jive Time, and hunt for your next used book at Ophelia’s Books.

The Wait Was Worth It Vibes

There may be a wait but Fremont Bowl serves up perfect poke, while Local Tide offers Insta-worthy casual seafood. Grab a tiki drink and sandwich at Paseo, eat upscale Indian at Meesha, enjoy afternoon gelato at Fainting Goat Gelato, and make the most of your Monday night by hitting Nectar Lounge’s Mo’Jam.

With a Little Help From My Friends Vibes

Gather for brews at Fremont Brewing, or catch a soccer match at George & Dragon Pub. Hop on a bike and cruise along the canal on the Burke-Gilman Trail, just make sure you stop for chocolates at Theo Chocolate. Meet up to shop at the Fremont Sunday Market, or for laughs at CSz Improv at the Atlas Theater

Cut Loose Like a Local Vibes

Take in the disco hallway at Dreamland or get lost in the quirky rooms at Bar House. Try to set high scores at Add-A-Ball, grab snacks at Kin Len’s late night happy hour, and enjoy cleverly-named (and tasty!) cocktails at Stampede Cocktail Club
